Okey dokey! 3.August 2000 I will leave the USA in one hour to fly to Sao Paulo (Brazil). I spend 3 month in the states and traveled over 10.000 miles (16.000 km)from coast to coast and from Mexico to Canada through 23 states passing 4 different timeszones (Waooo hehehe ;-)) San Franscico - Ex hippie city( summer of love 1969) with flair, Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street Highway 1 - nice coastel drive L.A. - Hollywood, Beverly Hills, a lot of silicon San Diego - not bad! Bordercrossing to Mexico. Death Valley - second hottest spot on earth, saw a coyote Las Vegas - my mother loved it, stupid people how spend a lot of money in clitter hotel-casinos, biggest hotel in the world (over 4000 rooms) National Parks - amazing landscapes and colors in road runner Utah and cactus Arizona--- Zion, Bryce, Green.., Arches and Grand Canyon National Parks and of course Marlboros Monument Valley. Phoenix - 110 F or 45 C every day in June is just too hot, crazy hostel manager Sue. Route 66 - the big dream - all the way to Chicago the original motherroad, deep inland America with oldschool Motels, Drive Inns and Roadspirit.--Flagstaff, Amarillo, Santa Fe(hot spot), Alberquerque, Oklahoma City(bombing), St Luiz(Gateaway Arch and Budweiser), Lincolns Springfield Chicago - tallest office building in the states (Sears Tower) and other big skyscrapers, Blues, Great Lakes, huge library and fat people Nigarra Falls - nothing new Toronto - very cool lively and young multicultural City with the worlds tallest tower and building, nice markets, streets and people. York - Harrley Davidson plant and State-Capitol Baltimore - all you can eat Sushi and a jap. hightech toilet Philly - nothing new but nice (all the independance stuff), free hostelshower NYC - too much to write Harlem my home, East Village and CBGC my friends Virginia, North and South Carolina - civil war forts and battlefields, rednecks and nice people, first english settlements - cool old towns. Charlston and Savanna are lovley towns, St Augustine the first settlement in the USA(spanish) Orlando - Disneyworld (the Megavillageassosiaation and a lot of 50$ bills), nice youthhostel but not organised, missed to see the manatees and Kennedy Space Center Memphis - Elvis'and the blues and rock and roll hometown, Graceland, and Sun Studio where rock and roll was born. City is shit. After Memphis I'm an absolutly blues and young Elvis fan New Orleans - Not USA anymore, French Quarter is a good place to live Key West - tropical islands 80 miles from Havanna Miami and Miami Beach - don't try to speak english! everybody speaks spanish or portuegues(the socalled gateaway to Latinamerica). The most beautiful girls of the whole USA and of my whole travel, because they come from Southamerica and have the money to buy the best cloths. Beautiful and very very rich. P1 in Munich is where the ugly and poor go to ;-) in Miami Beach Art Deco District are the really snoopish model clubs. God safe america, good bye, It's time to go Bye Yogi |
